Purpose: This list is devoted to the discussion of health and nutrition issues as they relate to cat. Topics discussed include the merits of a homemade (cooked or raw) diet vs. commercial cat foods. The use of natural, non-invasive i.e. "holistic" issues in the care of cats are frequently explored. Examples of holistic modalities which are common topics of discussion include (but are not limited to) homeopathy, herbs, traditional chinese medicine, and reiki.

Also a list where animal rescue centers can tell their stories about their needs or request for help. Especially welcome are stories and poems when your dog life's end and you need a place to share your feelings.

FlockGuard

Purpose: FlockGuard provides essential information about all aspects of dogs historically utilized as livestock guardians (such as Great Pyrenees, Anatolian Shepherds, Tibetan Mastiffs, Kuvasz and others), including extensive breed(s) information, health, training and resource pointers. Both companion and working dog information is covered. FlockGuard recently changed from a pet/companion dog oriented discussion group to a serious comprehensive forum covering all aspects of livestock guardian dog ownership. A "Farm" topic has been added for information of particular interest to ranchers and working dog owners. The list is now moderated to stay on-topic and reduce chatter.
