Workshop on Disaster Preparedness for People with Pets

Washington, DC -- A panel of experts will gather on Sunday, July 28 in Annandale, Virginia to help local pet owners come up with emergency response plans for their pets. Co-organized by the MD/DC/NoVA Chapter of the House Rabbit Society and MetroPets Online, this seminar is free and open to the public.

The seminar includes:
· Evacuation procedures and emergency supplies
· Overview of pet first aid
· Preparing a will to provide for your pets when you're gone
· Fire prevention and saftey

Speakers include:
· Battalion Chief John White, Fire Prevention, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue
· Captain Mike Vencak, Commander of Animal Services Division, Fairfax County
· Lynne Bettinger, Red Cross Certified Pet First Aid Instructor
· Martha Handman, Attorney
· Liz DiNorma, Emergency Animal Rescue Service Volunteer

Attendees will have ample opportunity to ask questions, and printed materials will be provided. Refreshments served.
